About This Show

Caris Corfman, an acclaimed actress, lost her ability to make new memories thirteen years ago. With credits ranging from the play Amadeus to the movie Funny Farm, Corfman’s brilliant acting career was interrupted when she was diagnosed with a highly-invasive brain tumor. In 1993, doctors removing the tumor damaged an area near her pituitary gland, permanently damaging her short term memory. The tumor was successfully removed, and what remained of her memory was the talent and will to channel her story into a moving solo performance.

Caris’ Peace is presented as a part of the First Person Festival, and weaves Corfman’s history, her ultimate triumph over brain injury, rehab, and setbacks, and theatrical works she performed before she fell ill.
