About This Show

Hans Christian Anderson’s classic story, The Nightingale, tells the tale of a Chinese Emperor’s emptiness despite his many belongings and servants. Upon being touched by the beautiful song of a nightingale, the Emperor yearns to possess it – only to learn the nightingale’s song is a gift not to be taken, but given freely.
