Equality, opportunity, greed, toil and poverty are illuminated in this theatrical event exploring the idea of social justice. In response to welfare reforms of 1998, best-selling author Barbara Ehrenreich presented herself as an unskilled homemaker needing to earn a living after her divorce. She tried to make ends meet as a waitress in Florida, a cleaning woman in Maine and a Wal-Mart clerk in Minnesota. This nationally acclaimed play examines issues of social justice and challenges the audience to examine the notion – can one make it in America on minimum wage.
