Jar the Floor

In suburban Chicago, four generations of African American women gather for the matriarch’s 90th birthday. But it’s not the 90 candles that heat up the party; it’s when the youngest arrives with her white companion that things get hot. Starring Suzzanne Douglas (TV’s The Parent ‘Hood) and directed by Ted Sod, Jar the Floor by Cheryl West is a warm, uplifting look at family relationships and the exasperating challenges of growing up and growing old.
