Into the Woods

The original musical debuted on Broadway in 1986, with the phenomenal music and lyrics written by the legendary late Stephen Sondheim. StageStruck’s spin on this modern classic will take you to a post-apocalyptic realm where modern conveniences are long gone, yet the challenges of life remain.

StageStruck: The People’s Own Theatre proudly presents their winter musical, Into the Woods. This story is a mashup of well-known fairy tale characters who are searching for something to bring them happiness. The Baker and His wife want to undo a curse, Cinderella wants to escape life as an unwanted stepchild, and Jack must give up a friend to feed his family. Their journey intermingles with other characters within the mysterious woods. The characters realize that not everything they wish for will necessarily make them happy and working together is the key to accomplishing the tasks before them.
