About This Show

Set in 1931 Berlin as the Nazis are rising to power, this groundbreaking musical takes us inside the seedy Kit Kat Klub and takes us to the brink of history. Based on John van Druten’s play "I Am a Camera," the story revolves around the 19-year-old English cabaret performer Sally Bowles and her relationship with the young American writer Cliff Bradshaw. Author Jeff Shannon writes, "They’re all living in a morally ambiguous vacuum of desperate anxiety, determined to keep up appearances as the real world–the world outside the comfortable sanctuary of the cabaret–prepares for the nightmarish chaos of war."
