Bridge to Terabithia

Winner of the 1978 Newbery Award, Bridge to Terabithia tells the story of friendship between two unlikely 5th graders, Jess Aaron, a boy from a poor family in rural Virginia, and Leslie Burke, the daughter of wealthy parents who have moved to the country. Their friendship lifts them out of their adolescent uncertainties and into the magical realm of Terabithia, a secret world of their imagination where they rule as king and queen. While the story has a tragic twist, the ultimate message is one of redemption, hope and the resilience of the human heart.
