About This Show

Hailed as “Four Recorder Virtuosos” by The New York Times, Quartet New Generation mesmerizes its audiences through innovative programming that juxtaposes contemporary and early music, presented with a dynamic and often theatrical stage presence. Performing on upwards of 20 different recorders of varying sizes and shapes during the course of a typical performance, the quartet transports the listener into new sonic and visual worlds, confirming the recorder’s viability as a modern classical instrument. This reputation has been confirmed as the group took top honors at both the Concert Artists Guild International Competition and the prestigious German Music Competition (Deutscher Musikwettbewerb) in Bonn, Germany.

The performance of Quartet New Generation marks part two of the 2007 Winter Chamber Music Series at the Patchogue Theatre. The series of three concerts features emerging young artists in intimate chamber music settings.

Tickets for all three Winter Chamber Music concerts may be purchased for $39.00 ($19.00 Students & Seniors).
