Celebrated flutist Claire Chase returns to The Kitchen to perform the world premieres of new compositions by composers Ann Cleare, Matana Roberts, and Wang Lu, commissioned by Chase as part of her 24-year Density 2036 project to find radical, new musical terrain for the flute and its community in the 21st century. The evening will also feature a reprised excerpt of Liza Lim’s Sex Magic from last year’s Density 2036, part vii, marking the first time the piece will be performed in front of a live audience.
