New York City
THREE PERFORMANCES ONLY!
V-Day New York City 2012 and Looking Glass Theatre are proud to again join the global effort to raise funds and awareness for local organizations that work to stop violence against women and girls. Looking Glass Theatre will present a benefit production of this groundbreaking collection of monologues by world-renowned authors and playwrights, edited by Eve Ensler and Mollie Doyle, directed by Rose Ginsberg.
These writings are inspired, funny, angry, heartfelt, tragic, and beautiful. But above all, together they create a true and profound portrait of how violence against women affects every one of us. Ms. Ginsberg’s take on this beautiful collection is to choose empowerment. A Memory, A Monologue, A Rant, And A Prayer is a call to the world to demand an end to violence against women, the mission of V-Day.
Last year, more than 5,800 V-Day benefits took place around the world. Since 1998, V-Day and these incredibly successful events have raised over $85 million for local beneficiaries working to end violence against women and girls. Proceeds from V-Day NYC 2012 ticket sales will benefit two local organizations: Women in Need, Inc, (WIN) and Voices of Women Organizing Project (VOW).
