About This Show

The Intrepid Museum, in collaboration with Times Square Playwrights, presents a reading of the historic drama, Time Limit by Henry Denker and Ralph Berkey.

Set just after the Korean War, Time Limit deals with the brutal decisions often forced on prisoners of war and the immense difficulties of balancing one’s humanity with duty in an environment where the rules may no longer apply.

The play was originally produced on Broadway just after the war, with a cast that included Arthur Kennedy and Richard Kiley. It was subsequently turned into an acclaimed film directed by Karl Malden and starring Richard Widmark and Richard Basehart with most of its scenes being filmed in Fort Jay on Governor’s Island in New York City.
