About This Show

One of Shakespeare’s less produced plays, The Winter’s Tale is the story of King Leontes of Sicilia who suspects his wife Hermione of infidelity with his long time friend King Polixenes of Bohemia. When Leontes commands his servant Camillo to poison Polixenes, Camillo refuses and instead informs Polixenes of the plot and flees his homeland to live and serve under the Bohemian King.

Shortly after, King Leontes’ wife gives birth to a baby girl. In a fit of jealous rage Leontes orders the child to be abandoned outside the city where she is found and raised by a shepherd. Time passes and Polixenes son, Prince Florizel, has fallen for a beautiful shepherd girl name Perdita.
