The Peter Shaffer Award – A One Night Reading of The Whale and the Dog Star

Fundamental Theater Project, is a non-profit arts organization dedicated to fostering international collaboration in order to produce dynamic theatre and create dialogue that continues beyond the theater doors.

In celebration of our honorary patron Sir Peter Shaffer (Equus, Amadeus), FTP will present the Peter Shaffer Award for emerging excellence in playwriting to our company member and resident playwright Ben Holbrook.

The evening will include a special staged reading of Mr Holbrook’s play, The Whale and the Dog Star, starring 4 time Tony Winner Boyd Gaines, and Broadway star Julia Murney, with special guest speaker, Tony Walton. Post reception to follow. Our last benefit included special guests Alec Baldwin, Sir Ian McKellen, Tom Stoppard, Shirley Knight among many others.
