Choreographer RoseAnne Spradlin, who has masterfully explored raw and emotionally authentic worlds, continues her investigation into transformations of the psyche as they occur in tandem with alterations in the physical body. In Survive Cycle, a world premiere, Spradlin collaborates with artists Glen Fogel (film/video) and Chris Peck (live music) as well as with performers Cédric Andrieux, Walter Dundervill, Paige Martin, and Tasha Taylor in exploring excision, pruning and destruction as necessary cycles in life.
“In addition to being a thrill, it was a metaphor, one that resonates across contemporary dance: cutting away layers to get to the skin.”

On Wednesday, November 8 there is a Post-Performance Discussion moderated by Donald Byrd.
Survive Cycle was originally commissioned by the Creative Residency Program of Dance Theater Workshop with support from the Ford Foundation, the Jerome Robbins Foundation, and the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency.
