About This Show

Based on Elmer Rice’s Pulitzer Prize-winning play, Street Scene tells the story of the ordinary romances, gossip and quarrels of an East Side tenement. The musical theater production features music by Kurt Weill, lyrics by Langston Hughes and a book by Elmer Rice.

Directed by William Wesbrooks with musical direction by Grant Wenaus. The cast and orchestra will feature undergraduate and graduate students from the Program in Vocal Performance at the Steinhardt School of Culture, Education and Human Development.
