Science in Theatre Festival is a women-driven three-day event presenting three original science-themed plays and new technologies. Each night an audience watches a new theatrical work, followed by science presentations in the style of TED talks, and roundtables consisting of scientists and artists. The goal of Science in Theatre Festival is to align forms of theater with current scientific research in neuroscience, artificial intelligence, sustainability and epigenetics, and communicate it in a pioneering way of storytelling.

The line up of commissioned playwrights for Science in Theatre Festival 2022 is: the award- winning playwright Zhu Yi (Emerging Artist Fellow at New York Theatre Workshop, a member of the Royal Court Theatre`s International Playwrights Programme…), a published author and Pace University literature professor Catalina Florescu and Julia Rosenblatt, Co-Founding Artistic Director of the award winning HartBeat Ensemble and a Connecticut Women’s Hall of Fame “Women Center Stage” Honoree.

In 2022, the scientists from Columbia University, NYU and UNIST will present their research on:

– egg freezing, reproductive rights and policies, Anate Brauer, MD (NYU) 

-transforming one university campus sewage into electrical power and it’s own crypto currency, Jaeweon Cho (UNIST)

-neuroscience of (lucid) dreaming, Moran Cerf (CU) 

On Friday, December 9th at 7pm you can see Catalina Florescu’s Sans me -What happens with the energy of the lost, loved ones? 

On December 10th at 7pm Julia Rosenblatt’s 

On December 11th at 5pm you can catch Zhu Yi’s concert reading of Frozen, a musical about two women’s friendship and their egg freezing journey
