The close-up conjurer and storyteller Eric DeCamps will pop up at The Metropolitan Room every Sunday in Pure Magic.
Voted Magician of the Year by The Society of American Magicians, DeCamps puts a contemporary spin on close-up conjuring in this intimate chamber magic show that evokes the ambiance of a 1940’s jazz club. Consisting of conjuring at breathtakingly close quarters, Pure Magic features several rarely-seen slight of hand effects. Most notable are his tribute to the legendary one-handed Argentinean magician, René Levand (the rarely seen “Bread Crumbs”), and the legendary “The Spirit Box” which uses an invention of Ira and William Davenport, the 19th century pioneers of Spiritualism, as its point of departure.
