Voting for Godot is a blackly comic look behind the scenes of our absurd politics. The new play pokes fun at a twisted electoral system that could reduce even the perfect candidate to utter irrelevance – IF he ever showed up! Centered on two clownish party functionaries, this performance follows a mythical progessive candidate put into the blender of modern campaigning; through infinite polling, unending fundraising, the media spotlight and finally, our crazy voting machinery itself. Combining farce and slapstick with news-savvy geekiness, the play takes irreverent jabs at both parties, the press and voters themselves.
