New York City
The Milk Can Theatre Company presents Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, directed by Julie Fei-Fan Balzer. Socialites and social climbers are playing at love, lust and emotional manipulation. The absurdity of Shakespeare’s story is unveiled in the competitive, appearance-driven, label-obsessed world of the Hamptons. No need to get on the Jitney to join in the fun for this one, however. The curtain rises on our heroine, shipwrecked on the coast of Illyria – oh, but wait! Isn’t that Lizzie Grubman’s SUV? No? Well, it is the road to Nick and Toni’s.
Schedule: Oct. 7 – 9, 12, 14-15, 19 and 21-22. There will be a 1 pm curtain on Oct. 12 & 19. All other shows begin at 7 pm.
