New York City
Based on Chinese folktales and Ron Sopyla’s charming storybook, Tiger Tales – A Shadow Story is a humorous exploration of how the small and powerless survive today’s modern jungle. A wise old rabbit tells her grand-daughter of hair-raising encounters with Tiger, King of the jungle. Using century-old leather puppets from their extensive collection, combined with acetate shadow figures, artists from Chinese Theater Works reveal some of the episodes surrounding Tiger’s rise to power, his oppressive rule and his ultimate downfall.
