The Water Hen

Stanislaw Ignacy Witkiewicz’s The Water Hen starts with Edgar Valpor blandly murdering his mistress, the Water Hen, at her own request. This spherical tragedy entraps three abortive generations of Valpors in a succession of strange events and surreal juxtapositions, ranging from family psychodrama to fourth-dimensional meta-foolery.
