About This Show

Rex McGraw directs Anton Chekhov’s The Three Sisters. This classic play about three sisters who try to get to Moscow examines the human spirit and the faith it takes to keep hope alive in an eroding, decaying world. The more unreachable Moscow becomes, the more the sisters cling to the idea of getting there, until Moscow becomes a metaphor for heaven: a place of fulfillment and reward that is always beyond their grasp. We see their loves, trials, successes, and failures as they struggle against the mounting forces of change that threaten to destroy their family. Chekhov considered this play a comedy, but it is as painful as it is funny. Presented by Oberon Theatre Ensemble.
