The Sea & Poison

Goat Island, Chicago’s most enduring and enigmatic performance group, returns to New York after a hiatus of ten years. The Sea & Poison is the result of two years of research and collaboration, and draws from historical, personal, and fictional accounts of poisoning to explore the effects of poison on both the social and individual body. Stories of Gulf War Syndrome, 1948 Camay soap ads, tarantula bites, and the 1951 sci-fi movie, The Incredible Shrinking Man are woven into a hallucinatory map of 20th-century obsessions.
