The Most Fabulous Story Ever Told is Paul Rudnick’s response to the extreme religious right and indeed imagines a Garden of Eden as home to Adam and Steve, along with Jane and Mabel. On a quest for meaning and God, this quartet trips through the events of the Old Testament with the Birth of the Messiah ending Act One. Act Two lands in modern day New York City and remains at Adam and Steve’s Christmas Eve Open House for the duration. Our quartet is forced to face the faults of their own belief system and faith, and realize they have been in possession of what they have truly needed all along: each other.
