About This Show

Dicapo Opera Theatre presents two comic one-act operas showcasing the company’s resident artists–Mozart’s The Impresario and Wargo’s The Music Shop.

Mozart’s The Impresario is about an impresario’s struggles in dealing with a troupe of performers, including two feisty divas as they vie for attention and top billing in a display of anything-you-can-do I-can-do-better vocal pyrotechnics. Richard Wargo’s The Music Shop is based on a short story by Anton Chekhov, about a bumbling husband who–with help from the music shop owner and his assistant–tries to remember the name of a song his domineering wife ordered him to buy.
