About This Show

The Hell Festival is The Brick’s first multi-arts summer theme festival. Involving more than 35 individual artists and companies, the festival begins as a gallery for the first weekend, and thereafter becomes a multi-discipline performance space. In addition to programmed artists and entertainers, the festival includes readings of Hell-related texts (Goethe’s Faust, The Screwtape Letters, Dante’s Inferno, Paradise Lost), a Hell-themed variety show (“Brick-a-Brac in Hell,” a festival version of The Brick’s monthly variety night) and many Hell-themed parties with Hell-themed soundtracks and special guest musicians. The closing night party is “The Carnival of Souls,” a party of the dead, at which guests are encouraged to dress as their favorite demonic icon. Cheap beer is served and all sins are encouraged throughout the fest.
