About the Show
The Castle Tower is based on a well-known 1917 romantic classic by Kyoka Izumi. Set in Shirasagi Castle, the story weaves together the fates of Princess Tomihime of the spirit world and Zushonosuke, a mortal with whom she falls in love. The work received rave reviews in Japan, as well as on tour in Egypt, India, China, Pakistan and Tibet. This stunning production, performed to live music, is a visual feast with great emotional force and aesthetic power.
