First Breeze Productions presents Sophia Romma’s Sickle. The play is a sweeping new tale, spanning time from Khrushchev to Yeltsin, and tells the tale of Donya, a young Russian American writer, caught in the web of family, history, and compelling new love.
The play is inspired by the true life story of Ms. Romma’s grandparents — who spent 10 years in Butirka, one of Russia’s most infamous prison camps, for being wealthy Jewish intellectuals, and for hiring mentally challenged Jews in the factory they once owned.
