New York City
Dance Theater Workshop presents the New York Premiere of Pig Iron Theatre Company’s Shut Eye, conceived by Joseph Chaikin. In this piece, a newlywed couple falls asleep at the dinner table; an insomniac finds herself trapped in a Gilbert and Sullivan operetta; a woman visits her brother in the coma ward only to find him absorbed in a business meeting. Poetic and absurd, Shut Eye brings together quiet, intimate scenes with moments of daring, full-bodied physicality.
