About This Show

Salvage, created and directed by dancer, singer, poet K.J. Holmes, is the second half of an evening length piece entitled Wreckage/and Salvage. A weaving of lament, longing, and restless hope, this piece explores the time held within memory and vision through the crossroads, cross fades, and merging of a series of solos and duets danced by Holmes, Lisa Gonzales, and Kayvon Pourazar. Landing/Place, an in-progress version of a full evening work by Bebe Miller Company, concerns the impact of the unfamiliar against the everyday (picture any collision of images that tells you you’re not at home). The work explores sensory, spatial, and cultural dislocation – the yearning towards order in the apprehension of difference.
