About This Show

Elixir Productions Theater Company presents Alex S. DeFazio’s Radium, a two-act, erotically poetic theatrical study of intimacy among the interrelated sexual, social and personal lives of five urban gay males. Jody P. Person directs.

Radium opens in the bedroom of classical musician Alexis, immediately following an unrequited sexual encounter with self-styled artist Jay, who himself has rejected love and compassion, opting instead for acts of sexual humiliation. As scenes progress through bars, parties and other bedrooms, we are introduced to activist/lawyer Ryan who, while championing tolerance and freedom for others, cannot accept his boyfriend Louis’ desire to become a woman; and are finally introduced to Alexis’ former boyfriend Zachary–a reporter who appears to be the only one to find self-acceptance in an ecstatic moment of bliss… but is he really, in fact, the only one after all?
