About This Show

American Globe Theatre, the longest-running off-off Broadway theatre in midtown, launches its’ 15th season with Shakespeare’s Othello. A noble hero’s love and a devout wife’s purity of heart are no match for a trusted friend’s obsessive jealousy. When the treacherous Iago causes Othello to question his wife’s fidelity, suspicion and innuendo escalate to desperate rage and ultimately, tragedy. This complex masterpiece by William Shakespeare reveals a sensual world in which social order, racial politics and personal ambition collide.
