Ordinary People

Nancy Gilsenan’s Ordinary People, an adaptation of a novel by Judith Guest, depicts a family whose lives change after the oldest son dies. Conrad Jarrett survived in a boating accident, but his brother drowned. After failing to commit suicide, Conrad spends almost a year at the hospital with visits from a mother that makes him feel unwanted and a father that makes him feel too loved.
