About the Show

“Funny, surreal, and nonchalantly cosmic, Harrington and Kauffman are
the hipster heirs to the Marx Brothers.”

– Mark O’Donnell, co-author of Hairspray

In this sly comedy, an accordion-playing Belgian cabaret singer named
Gustave Flaubert and his sidekick Nhar have failed in their quest to
find the Yeti at the North Pole, but forge ahead to perform one last
show for the audience they have dreamed in their hypothermia-induced
hallucination. As they succumb slowly to the Arctic cold, Gustave
and Nhar recount the tale of how they ended up at the North Pole,
punctuated by occasional musical interludes and live re-enactments,
such as the Song of the Importance of the European Grandmother, the
Mutiny of the Sled Dogs, and the famed Norwegian Fish-Rod Bucket
Toss. Meanwhile, audience members are encouraged to throw golf balls
at Gustave and Nhar to keep them awake.

Written and performed by Richard Harrington and Chris Kauffman
directed by Patricia Buckley.
