Smith Street Stage celebrates its fifth year of Shakespeare in Carroll Park with Shakespeare’s Comedy of Wit, Much Ado About Nothing. Brooklyn’s Carroll Park doubles as the Messina of the play as its citizens transition from war to a war of words. This city on summer vacation indulges in a round of Shakespearean gossip, pranks and matchmaking with a distinct New York undercurrent of romantic, sexy intensity. The company’s most accomplished ensemble to date will be joined by a three piece rock band, bringing their own form of heat to the city’s fastest growing Shakespeare company in what should be its finest, and funniest, show yet.
