Robert Myers, The Lynching of Leo Frank will make its New York premiere at the Medicine Show Theatre. The story follows the trial of Leo Frank, a payroll clerk at the National Pencil Factory in Atlanta, Georgia; the murder of Mary Phagan, a 14-year old factory worker; Frank’s murder trial and its disturbing aftermath. In May 1999, the play was awarded the Joseph Jefferson Award for “Best New Work” in the Chicago area during the 1998-1999 season.
