About This Show

A jilted lover locked in her disguise as a man; a forgotten prince chained to his life as a prisoner; an influential father caught between love and honor – Flux Theatre Ensemble presents Life is a Dream, the Spanish classic by Pedro Calderón de la Barca.

The Polish prince Segismundo, locked in a tower all his life, discovers through a clever guise by his father that the pitiful life he believed was his own may not be the one destiny has laid for out him. John Clifford’s riveting translation probes the depths of our existence and dares to ask the question, “Is what we believe to be real truly a figment of our imagination?”
