About This Show

German-born Johannes Wieland, international choreographer and former principal with the Bejart Ballet Lausanne, joins his ferociously fearless young company of nine dancers for an evening of two linked world premieres dealing with truth, non-truth, and our infinite capacity for self-deception. Membrane refracts this idea through a broad societal prism. Filtrate features Wieland himself, which draws us deep into the emotional colorations of individual self-deception regarding personal and sexual identity. Wieland’s intense choreography features reflective moments alternating with virtuosic, athletic movement performed with clarity and punch at breakneck speed.
