Growing Up/Growing Down

Roots & Branches Theater presents Growing Up/Growing Down, a fairy tale or two written and directed by David Schechter with Arthur Strimling and the ensemble. This wondrous weave of songs and stories explores how fairy tales affect our lives and the choices we make. Come watch freshly liberated princesses wander in the Single Woods. There is a Rapunzel Rap that would send Eminiem or Lil Kim running for cover. And, realizing the terrible treatment old women get in fairy tales–think Hansel and Gretel–the Roots came up with a recipe for turning the evil witch into a Juicy Crone. Featuring original songs by Schechter and additional music by Marc Aaron.
