Emily & Sue A love story in 5 scenes and 4 seizures –
by Carolyn Gage with Merry Gangemi.
Adapted from the writings of Emily Dickinson. Featuring Karen Ball. The story of Emily Dickinson’s passionate and lifelong relationship with her sister-in-law Susan Huntington Dickinson is told in five scenes comprised of her letters and poems to Susan. Each of these turning points is underscored by an epileptic seizure and one of Emily’s poems describing her disability. Following each performance there will be a panel discussion with playwright Merry Gangemi and Dickinson specialist and author Martha Nell Smith.
