About This Show

Professor Shimon Levy conceived and directed this Israeli-Palestinian dialogue consisting of poetry and music. Dual Solitudes is drawn from an anthology of thirty poems, half in Hebrew and half in Arabic. Some of the poems have been edited for the dramatic dialogue of the piece; others have been left untouched. During the performance, the audience is not informed whether the poet is Arab or Israeli, but the universal pain is understood. This ground-breaking work about love, death, war, and peace aims at building bridges through theater.
