Bright Sheng & Friends

World-renowned composer and pianist Bright Sheng is currently Flushing Town Hall’s resident composer and director of the Bright Sheng & Friends series of classical concerts. Sheng’s compositions are noted around the world for their lyrical, limpid melodies inspired by the folk music of China, a Bartokian sense of rhythmic propulsion, and musical and theatrical gestures borrowed or derived from Chinese opera.
