About This Show

Schedule

April 14th
An evening of varied short silent films with live accompaniment, featuring homemade instruments: zither, cartridge organ and percussion. Cartoons, short subjects and educational films unroll in a landscape of unearthly music.

April 21
Leon and Brian Dewan perform on exotic homemade analog electronic instruments, including the Swarmatron, the Model A and Alphatron,
Courtesy modulator and the Dual Primate Console. The music that emerges from these machines is by turns rhythmic, stimulating, mysterious, mesmerizing and full of little surprises.

April 28
An evening of historic songs, folk and popular, religious and secular,
from off the beaten path. Sung with accordion and autoharp
accompaniment. A veritable rummage room of musical and poetic
artifacts.

The Dixon Place Veteran Series showcases downtown performers who have a history of working with Dixon Place. All of the bar and box office income is a direct contribution to the Dixon Place capital campaign, to complete construction of its new permanent facility on Chrystie Street!
