Barcelona in 48 Hours

Two dancers, three musicians, and one photographer. Barcelona in 48 Hours fuses David Zambrano’s explosive physical dance, pulsating live music, and video projections, mixing themes of travel and dislocation. Dancing, the creative process, immigration police, and dreams come together to create a meditation on movement. Embedded in the center of this live performance is an impressionistic film portrait of artist and dancer David Zambrano. Produced and directed by Anja Hitzenberger and Edward Ratliff, the film-within-the-performance is made almost entirely of black-and-white photgraphs to communicate a poetic snapshot of an artist’s life.
