About the Show

Mexico’s third largest city started its’ first ballet company 18 years ago, when philanthropist Yolanda Santos founded Ballet de Monterrey. She made it her mission to bring art to the fast-growing northeastern Mexico city and mine the wealth of talent trained especially in the city. Under its first artistic director, Ann Marie D’Angelo, three months later, they presented “The Nutcracker” a tradition which still continues. The company dances a diverse repertoire of classical and contemporary work and tries to keep the Latin American identity.
