BeaconNY Productions presents the World-Premiere of Badge, a dark comedy by Matthew Schneck. A 2006 semi-finalist for the National Playwrights Conference at the Eugene O’Neill Theatre Conference, the play follows 28 year-old Roy, whose only refuge is the Boy Scouts. It keeps him sane, and most importantly, it keeps things the same. That is, until the Scout Master’s uninhibited sister walks into Roy’s life, making him do very “un-Scout-like” things. Things may finally change for Roy, but maybe now isn’t a great time to go off the meds.
The cast features Greg McFadden (Broadway: The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial), Glynis Bell (Broadway: Amadeus, My Fair Lady; off-Broadway: Jewtopia), Tara Falk (Broadway: The Constant Wife, Metamorphoses), and Darrell James. Jenn Thompson directs.
