About This Show

Native Kansans Theresa Buchheister and Samara Naeymi have founded Title:Point to explore classical and original works by merging diverse artistic mediums and techniques, all the while examining the role of the audience.

The company’s inaugural production is Bertolt Brecht’s Antigone, in Judith Malina’s daring and topical translation. This is a workshop presentation, with a full production planned for September 2007.

Antigone is a piece of theatre whose relevance has not diminished over time. It has been adapted and translated many times, but the impulse of the story remains the same and, unfortunately, perpetually modern. It is a story about the corruption of intention by pride. On both ends of the tragic spectrum there is a character that chooses a stance and will not be moved. The result of this is massive destruction, with victory on neither side.
