The original concept of 3 Tenors in Search of an Act was the brain-child of Edd Clark and Paul Stephan, who asked their long-time friends, Bill Brooks and Steven Tharp to do a show spoofing the original “3 Tenors.” After all, there’d already been the original 3 Tenors, 3 Mo’ Tenors, 3 Irish Tenors, and even The Ten Tenors! While working on the show, they found that just spoofing the original 3 Tenors was too limiting. With the help of musical director and arranger Paul Stephan, and using a mix of opera, operetta, pop and musical theatre, they set out to find their own voice, and in the process created a show with an original blend of harmony and humor.
