The Lady from the Sea

Henrik Ibsen’s classic drama The Lady from the Sea is revived as the sixth installment of the Century Center’s ongoing Ibsen Series. Set in a small town in 19th century Norway, the play combines bittersweet comedy and haunting poetry to explore the secret yearnings of a young woman married to a middle-aged country doctor. Something from her past will not allow her to be happy with her husband and his two daughters from an earlier marriage. Will she leave her adopted family and return to the sea?Alfred Christie directs.
