About This Show

Cocteau Playwright-in-Residence Rod McLucas translates and directs The Bourgeois Gentleman, Moliere’s seventeenth century farce about a self-made man who tries to buy his way into society. This production includes a fresh interpretation of Moliere’s own comedie ballet, in which song and dance are woven into the spoken dialogue, as well as an original score with songs by composer/lyricist Raphael Crystal.
